1. Simple sentences: are independent clause.
· Spring has arrived!
· The flowers are blooming.
· The sun is shining brightly.
· People are walking and jagging.
2. Compound sentence: two independent clause.
· The sun is shining and there are no clouds (in the sky).
· It was a beautiful day, so we decided to go to (the skate board park).
3. Complex sentence: are independent clause + one or more [dependent clause].
· [As soon as we arrived], we put on our roller blades.
· Alex broke his arm [because he wasn’t careful]
Examples :
· John likes to fish and hunt.
· John likes to fish, and he often goes fishing with friends.
· I like to eat fish but not to catch them.
· John likes to catch fish, but he doesn’t like to eat them.
My examples:
· Fatima likes to shop and chat with her friends.
· Fatima likes to shop, but she often goes shopping with her friends.
· I like to eat rise but not to cook it.
· She likes to eat rise, but she doesn’t like to cook it.
